Patio season is in full swing, and it is time to get outside and enjoy the backyard! The summer season is short, and we need to soak it all up before it is over. I have finally put the finishing touches on the patio styling for this year. Come check it out.The lower deck is in full sun until our maple trees start providing some shade, that will be a few years yet. I found an alternative to the large arm umbrellas. I would love one, but the price and the fear of the wind taking it out have kept me away. While browsing a Pottery Barn catalog, I saw an end table that was an umbrella stand; I thought that would be a perfect solution for my shade problem. Then I saw the price; I can’t justify $300 for an outdoor end table that I use for five months of the year. So I started searching for a less expensive option. I found this end table at Target. It was originally brown, but I felt it was too much brown with my existing patio furniture set. A few coats of spray paint and the table was transformed!
Add in a little tic tac toe game and a Bluetooth lantern, and we are all set!
I have been waiting to convert the patio to a black and white color scheme for a couple of years now. Thanks to Target with their great options this year, I was able to make it happen. I love this geometric outdoor rug!
For the coffee table, I put black lanterns from JoAnn’s on top of an IKEA tray that I had. Add in some candles and a couple of handfuls of seashells and good to go.
I used a beach towel as a throw to add a little color to my black and white scheme. Did you see the rose gold gnome hiding out? I have planted mosquito pots on the patio for the past couple of years. I still don’t know if they help with the mosquitoes or not, but when you live in mosquito country, you will try anything. The bonus is running your hands over the leaves releases the yummy scents of lemon and mint!
Williams Sonoma Home has these fabulous geometric outdoor pillows that I wanted. But again, not going to spend that kind of money to sit outside. I thought I could create some myself. In my opinion, they turned out even better!
Got to have a little pink flamingo to tie in the flamingo pillows in the front of the house!
