Christmas is my favorite holiday for decorating. The sparkling lights and shiny ornaments fill my eyes with happiness. It is the darkest time of the year, but will all the added light in the house it quickly becomes the brightest. Here is how I styled the sofa this Christmas season.

STEP 1 | START WITH A CLEAN SLATE
Start by cleaning everything off the sofa, coffee table, and side tables. Rearrange furniture as needed. For the Christmas season, I need to move furniture around in my home to make room for the Christmas trees.
STEP 2 | ADD A THROW
Instead of a throw blanket, this time I added a faux sheepskin rug to the backside of the sofa. You can use these rugs in many different places than just the floor.
STEP 3 | SWAP OUT YOUR PILLOW COVERS
A quick and inexpensive way that I create a fresh new living room from season to season is through pillow covers.
PRO TIP: You don’t have to change all the pillow covers. If you have some great neutrals all you need are a couple of new pillows in seasonal colors to create an updated look.
STEP 4 | ADD IN CHRISTMAS DECOR
Grab items from other rooms. I used the mercury glass canisters that typically are on my nightstand and placed them on the coffee table for the Christmas season. It is as if you purchased new decor items when you relocate them to different areas around your home.
