Welcome to my home for the holidays! Christmas is my favorite time of year. When decorating for Christmas, my philosophy is more equals better! Just when you think it is done, add one more element. I love the transformation of the home to a winter wonderland.
There are lots of photos, so I broke up the tour into two parts. See Part 2 here.
[spacer height=”16px”]Upstairs I stuck with a black and gold theme with a touch of blush. I have been repeating the black and gold scheme for the past couple of years. It is just a classic color combination that I haven’t gotten sick of it yet. Typically I like to change the color scheme from year to year, can’t have the same tree twice! I think it’s the crazy decorator in me that craves the constant change.
ENTRYWAY
Added a faux boxwood wreath I had created onto the mirror. Would you be interested in learning how to make this wreath? Let me know in the comments below.
STAIRWAY
PRO TIP: The points of interest help to hide the floral wire or pipe cleaners you used to hang the garland on the stairs. Pretty and functional, the best combination!

A chain with clips is used to display Christmas cards as they arrive.
Added a few jingle bells to my hurricane candles.
LIVING ROOM
Rocky had to make an appearance too! The tree is an old faux tree. I still have to wrap lights onto it! It is a perfect size, and I don’t feel the need to replace it. I have spruced it up by giving it a light spray with gold spray paint. It adds a fun element to an otherwise dull green tree.
Don’t those new Hearth & Hand inspired ornaments look great on the tree! Check out the tutorial here.

I love this slim faux tree that I got at the end of the season last year at Target. It was perfect as it was I didn’t feel I needed to add a thing to it.
Add a little greenery and a few ornaments to your vignette for an instant Christmas update!
