My favorite season is upon us, summer! I love the warm weather, time outside, long days of sunlight and hanging by the water. I wish the season would last forever. Most of May I spent planting flowers outside and now have started to work my way inside my house.
This year I went with a muted palm beach scheme with green palms, black & white, with a touch of blush for the color scheme. Here is how I transformed the living room for the summer.
STEP 1 | START WITH A CLEAN SLATE
Start by cleaning everything off the sofa, coffee table, and side table. If you have noticed the sofa is in a new location, I rearranged the furniture in the living room. It is always fun to try and reconfigure the furniture in a room. The upstairs living room is the worst room that I have tried to arrange furniture.
Added the entryway rug into the living room on top to create a layered look.
STEP 2 | ADD A THROW
My favorite neutral throw from Pottery Barn is draped over the sofa. A great neutral throw is a staple to every home.
STEP 3 | SWAP OUT YOUR PILLOW COVERS
A quick and inexpensive way that I create a fresh new living room from season to season is through pillow covers. The palm pillows and black and white pillows are covers that I made last summer. I found the llama pillow at Home Goods. And the pineapple pillow came from H&M last year.

STEP 4 | ADD IN DECOR
I added lots of sand and seashells to complete the summer vibe. Even a fabric basket filled with pillows.
MISSION COMPLETE
We are all ready for the warm weather of summer!
