I don’t know what the winter season was like where you live, but for us in Fargo, it was LONG and COLD. Now that all this snow is finally starting to melt, the end seems near and that spring is right around the corner. There is something about a long winter that makes you appreciate the warmer light-filled days of spring.
Step 1 | Start with a Clean Slate
Yes, I rearranged the sofa again. I also switched out the entryway and living room rugs.
Clear everything off the sofa and tables. You want a fresh perspective when starting to decorate for a new season.
Step 2 | Add a Throw
The faux fur rug was put away for the rest of the year. The cream throw from Pottery Barn was brought back out. Simply draped over a corner of the sofa.
Step 3 | Change Pillow Covers
My color scheme for the living room this year came from a single pillow I spied at Home Goods in January. When I saw it with its excellent color combination of yellow, light blue, and sage green, I knew that was my color palette this year for spring!
H&M had some fun pillow covers this spring that coordinated with my new spring pillow. On the computer screen, they looked like they were a match with the Home Goods pillow, but upon arrival, it turns out that they are more of a mustard color versus yellow. The faux fur robin blue pillow is the same from last year that I had found at Home Goods.
Step 4 | Add Seasonal Decor
Easter tends to be the holiday that Craig and I host for friends and family. I tend it go all out with the spring decor because of this. It makes a difference if you know a group of people are coming over to the house.
I had everything I needed for decor items this season nothing new was added this year.
Mission Complete
The living room is ready for the spring season!
