We have made it to the finish line in the Fall One Room Challenge! I really can’t believe how quickly time passes when you’re having fun! We were able to transform the master bedroom from a bright and cheery space into a moody and lux bedroom, here is the master bedroom reveal, enjoy!
This week was all about adding and finding the finishing pieces before the master bedroom reveal. I could have used another week to putz around with the styling and finishing touches. I enjoy the styling process, but I am by no means quick at it. I like to try different things, think about it for a little bit, browse Pinterest for inspiration, and shop for the perfect pieces in stores or my home.

Before
Before I get to the big master bedroom reveal photos, here is a reminder of where the bedroom was before we started the challenge. Like I said before there was nothing wrong with the bedroom, I was looking to change it up, because that is what I do, regularly change up my rooms. A little cra-cra, I know, but I LOVE it!

Ta-da!
Here is the new moody and lux master bedroom! I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out.
Having a smaller master bedroom, I was a little scared in choosing a darker paint color for the walls and part of the ceiling. But it helped to create a more intimate retreat.
Bedding
It is all about the bedding in this room! All the bedding is new except for the white euro shams. My biggest splurges for the bedding were the white duvet cover and faux fur throw.
I love the mix of cotton, silk, and faux fur on the bed! The combination of textures is what makes this bed.
I brought in a touch of the charcoal to the bed through the accent pillow that I made using black crock vinyl fabric from JoAnn’s.
Dresser & Mirrored Closet Door
Can you believe the difference paint and new hardware have done to my dresser?!?
I can’t get over how stunning and straightforward the mirrored closet door is either. It started with an idea to have the mirror on the door itself. I couldn’t find an interior door with a mirror, so I had to create it myself. Take a single-panel interior door and glue a custom cut mirror to the interior of the door panel, done!
It does its job to hide the mess that is the master closet. The entire contents of my dresser are still hiding behind the door, haven’t had time to put it back yet!
The reflections of the bedroom in the mirror are stunning! I moved my West Elm Eden Cross Planters into the bedroom to fill the corner and add some greenery. It is a perfect spot for them!
Another angle of the dresser looking from the bathroom!
Nightstands
The rectangular lamps that I found at Home Goods are the perfect scale for these smaller, almost 24″ wide nightstands. With a king-size bed in the room, we only have around 26″ on either side of the bed.
I can’t get over the texture, and lux feel that the faux shagreen vinyl brings to these IKEA nightstands! It was hard to capture it through the photos. It is something that you have to touch and experience in person!
DIY Acrylic Floating Frames
I knew I needed new art for the wall between the bedroom and bathroom doors. I still wanted wedding photos in the room, but I didn’t want them in color, so I created 12” x 12” black and white art prints from Shutterfly using our wedding photos. I love the look of their cardstock prints!
My next challenge was finding gold-colored square frames. A search on Pinterest reveals a ton of tutorials on how to create acrylic floating frames. I got the cut acrylic from Lowe’s and ordered stainless studs from Amazon! A little of my favorite gold spray paint to the studs, and I had the perfect frames. What a fun DIY project, highly recommend making some for yourself.
Last Look at the Master Bedroom Reveal
I can’t get over the little alligator feet on the Stalk Gold Platter from CB2! A fun little addition to the nightstand and a perfect place to hold my glasses and phone at night.
Rocky even had to get in the action while I was taking photos! One of his new favorite spots on top of the faux fur throw.
