As summer is winding down and we are starting to get a taste of the fall weather to come, I am finally sharing with you my summer home tour. It is amazing how quickly the season flies by, lots of fun outings and activities enjoying the beautiful weather! Come and see how I have transformed my home for the summer season.
ENTRYWAY
A white hexagon tray with a stripe of gold holds the decor on the entryway table. A simple addition for a sprinkle of summer was to add seashells in the top of the faux plant pot. You always need a container in the entryway to collect random items that make their way into the home. I found a wooden pineapple bowl at a local thrift store perfect for the task.
DINING ROOM
My summer tablescape is simple. I started by swapping the table runner to a black and white stripe to go with my summer scheme. A new addition to the home is the giant faux clamshell. I had wanted the Ballard Design version for years but never made the purchase. Pottery Barn recently came out with their version, it came up as an item on their Premier Event, and I took the plunge.
For the season I filled the clamshell with seashells.
On the dining buffet, I created two vignettes.
KITCHEN
In the open base cabinet, I placed a silver bowl of mixed seashells.
Above in the open wall cabinets, I placed summer inspired decor items.
On the island, my new brass tray from Pottery Barn still sits. Filled with flickering flameless candles inside a giant dome cloche. I have been continuing my tassel obsession inside as well. I made this black tassel with a couple of wood beads to finish off the cloche.
My favorite candle at the moment is the Capri Blue in Volcano. The scent is amazing. I thought I would give their reeds a shot. They are the best reeds I have gotten in a long time, they indeed fragrance the house. I immediately ordered another one to put in the entryway.

I miss the sweet smell of the peonies already. The peony flowers are only in bloom for a few short and beautiful weeks. I love cutting the blooms and bringing them into the house.
I created this wood bead and tassel garland to wrap around my vintage lamp a beach-vibe. Tassels, tassels, and more tassels! A quick DIY project, my favorite kind!
Added a gold bee to the tray. Bees have a special meaning in my family. My grandma called herself “Grandma B” and collected all things bees. Upon her passing, we started our bee collections to carry on the tradition and have reminders of her around the house!
I hope you enjoyed my summer home tour!
