STEP 1 | START WITH A CLEAN SLATE
Clean everything off the sofa, coffee table, and side tables.
STEP 2 | ADD A THROW BLANKET
I have several throw blankets that I swap out from season to season.
STEP 3 | SWAP OUT YOUR PILLOW COVERS
A quick and inexpensive way that I create a fresh new living room from season to season is through pillow covers.
PRO TIP: You don’t have to change all the pillow covers. If you have some great neutrals all you need are a couple of new pillows in seasonal colors to create an updated look.
I try to only purchase or make removal pillow covers. This way the pillow forms always stay on the sofa and chairs and I am only storing flat covers in between uses.
I have learned how to sew my own pillow covers to open up the available color and fabric options. It is also typically less expensive than purchasing new covers. My collection is getting a little out of control, just ask Craig. I can’t help it, I love pillows!
STEP 4 | ADD IN FALL DECOR
Spread your fall decorations throughout the room. My garden stool and succulents pot that was outside all summer have made their way indoors for the winter.
PRO TIP: You don’t need to change out all your accessories, just sprinkle in a few fall items around the room.
