Fall can be a challenging season to decorate for, especially with the holidays of Halloween and Thanksgiving within the season. Fall and Thanksgiving like warm colors while Halloween wants dark and spooky. I have a hard time deciding which way to go with the color scheme. This year I feel I found the right balance between the holidays, warm colors for fall and spooky decor for Halloween. Here is my instant refresh for this fall season!

START WITH A CLEAN SLATE
Here is the reveal of my latest addition to the living room, the large Eden Cross Standing Planter from West Elm! I have wanted a raised planter for my indoor plants for years. West Elm had a sale on them a couple of months back, and I decided it was time. Of course, as soon as it arrived, I couldn’t find a snake plant anywhere to plant inside. My mom ended up finding me one though a few weeks later, thanks mom! The planter is the perfect addition to the living room. And now I want a smaller one to join the party, it never ends.
The white ceramic stool has made its way back inside after spending the summer on the patio. And so has my succulent pot. A few of my succulents are starting to look more like trees than a plant. Next spring it will probably be time to separate a few of the plants into individual pots.
As usual, we need to start with a clean slate by taking everything away that we aren’t using.
ADD A THROW
I used the same Pottery Barn throw as I had this summer. A great neutral colored throw can transition from season to season. Invest in quality pieces that you will own for years.
SWAP OUT PILLOW COVERS
I didn’t have to purchase or create any new pillows this season. I went with a color scheme that mixes the warm colors of fall with black and gray of Halloween.
ADD IN DECOR
There are no new decor items in the living room this season, everything is what I already owned. I try to challenge myself from year to year and find new ways to style the same accessories in new ways. Take a look at last year’s Fall decor to compare.
MISSION COMPLETE
The sofa is ready for the cooler fall weather!
